Explanation - All statements are incorrect. PMEAC is a non-constitutional and non-statutory, non-permanent and independent body. It is constituted with the prime and sole aim to analyse all critical issues, economic or otherwise, referred to it by the Prime Minister and advising him thereon. It is mandated to give advice to the Prime Minister on economic matters such as inflation, GDP changes, export-import changes, creating supporting environment for increased trade and commerce. Functions

o   Submit periodic reports to PM related to macroeconomic developments and issues which will have implications of the economic policy.

o   Analyse any topics, issues assigned by the PM and provide advice to them.

o   Analyse macroeconomic issues having high importance and present the views to PM and any other task which is assigned by Prime Minister

Explanation - There are two main puzzles about the Sun - First is the coronal heating problem. Though the core of the Sun is at a temperature of about 15 million degrees, its outer layer, the photosphere is a mere 5700 degrees hot. However, its corona or outer atmosphere, which stretches up to several million kilometres beyond its surface, is much, much hotter than the surface. It is at a temperature of one million degrees or more.

Explanation - Since the Sun’s surface is a very active space, electrically charged gases on its surface generate areas of powerful magnetic forces, which are called magnetic fields. Since the gases on the Sun’s surface are constantly moving, these magnetic fields can get stretched, twisted and tangled creating motion on the surface, which is referred to as solar activity. Solar activity varied with the stages of the solar cycle, which lasts on average for a period of 11 years.

Explanation - EMRS started in the year 1997-98 to impart quality education to ST children in remote areas to enable them to access the best opportunities in education and to bring them at par with the general population. EMRS are established in the States/UTs from the grants received under Article 275(1) of the Constitution of India.

o   EMRS are co-educational residential schools from Class VI to XII.

o   Eklavya schools will be on par with Navodaya Vidyalayas and will have special facilities for preserving local art and culture besides providing training in sports and skill development.

o   Each school has a capacity of 480 students with equal number of seats for boys and girls.

o   Non-ST students can be admitted in these schools on seats up to 10% of the total seats.

o   CBSE curriculum is followed in these schools, and education is completely free.

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), an autonomous organisation has been set up under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to establish and manage EMRS across the country.

Explanation - Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is an autonomous society under Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India and it has 60 centres across the country. It was established in 1991 with the objective of encouraging, promoting and boosting the export of software from India. The STPI’s Governing Council’s Chairperson is the Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology.
