HCS Examination is a comprehensive competitive examination administered by the Haryana Public Functions Commission to recruit individuals for various administrative portfolios and functions within the state. The examination consists of two phases: the preliminary and the main. Although the Preliminary exam comprises two papers, the Main exam comprises a written test and a viva voce test.

The final stage of the HPSC HCS selection procedure is the interview round/personality test. The interview round is worth 75 points.
